Thanks to all who’ve been rooting and praying for us. It means a lot, and we understand all too well that those who are with us in spirit are usually unable to be with us in wallet. Luckily, it really is the thought which counts.
We’re in contact again with the people from Green Smoke, so please keep your fingers crossed that this time we’ll be going forward without a hitch. They’re a great company, and we’re hoping they’ll soon toss us a life raft.

Thanks, again, to Elayne Boosler and Tails of Joy, Drew Barrymore is getting the treatment she needed for her allergies — but we now believe we’re the canary in the mine for yet another “bad food crisis” involving Proctor & Gamble’s Original IAMS dry cat food. It was burning our hands and it appears to have been burning the mouths of many of our cats. We have SIX suffering as Koko did and they are in need of immediate care we cannot afford.
I’ve spoken with the FDA and Proctor & Gamble, and we’re looking for an attorney and an independent testing lab. The last time there was a problem with the food we lost 17 cats in just a few weeks. 90% had kidney failure and the rest had anal cancer. We have two suddenly showing symptoms of anal cancer in addition to the six whose mouths, gums, and roots/nerves of the teeth are being eaten away.
We removed all IAMS from our equation, last week, and are trying to get the word out. If the vets had listened to us last time, news of the tainted food would have broken 6 – 8 weeks earlier than it did. How many lives might have been saved?
I am soooooooooo happy Green Smoke will help you!! I wish I can help too but I have only social security. A big company is better they have more money and I know you need money for the cats. I hope Green Smoke will help make things better for you and your brother and the cats! I worry about all of you. I will tell my mother to try Green Smoke because I have been trying to get her to quit smoking for 20 years. Maybe she will do it this time! She loves cats too.
Thank you for letting me know I am not crazy to be scared of feeding IAMS to my cats! I felt burning too and stopped using it in May. I hope your kitties will be okay.
Thank you for warning us about the IAMS cat food problem! My Lily died from eating the Wal-Mart food and I still miss her so much. I am sorry about your cats. I hope they will be okay. I hope Green Smoke will help you with everything you need!! I never heard of Elayne Boosler before but now I love her. I saw some Youtube videos and she is so funny! When I think about all the animals who need help it makes me cry. I hope the Green Smoke people will help save your shelter. I always loved Elayne Boosler and now I love her even more! I did not know she was an animal activist I just thought she was hysterical and smart! You are very funny too even though you tell a lot of sad stories. I will pray for a happy ending for you too. I love Elayne Boosler! I’m so happy she helped your kitties and I hope Green Smoke will help too. Thanks for letting us know about the IAMS! I stopped using their food a few months ago because my cat kept getting constipated and needed enemas. Now I feed him a raw diet and I wish I was doing that before. All the commercial pet foods make me nervous. I think they only care about money.
I noticed a long time ago that poor people help more than rich people. I hope everything will be okay for your cats and you will get a lot of help from green smoke and even some rich people who do help sometimes. AM
I am so happy things are looking up for you but sorry about the iams. I stopped using them a long time ago for a lot of reasons. You all deserve something good to happen soon. I have four cats and sometimes I feel like that is more work than one person can do. I don’t know how you and your brother managed with almost 200 cats! I hope your help comes soon I know how tired you probably feel.
